Can we trust machines? (A.K.A. me being super deep)

Yesterday, the computer I once called my friend began to grow in an alarming direction. Strange messages in a language I didn't understand began to flash up on my screen, one after the other. "XP FIREWALL PROTECTION-- YOUR COMPUTER MAY BE INFECTED." "XP FIREWALL PROTECTION-- 14 INFECTIONS DETECTED." "XP FIREWALL PROTECTION-- ENABLE SECURITY MEASURES?"
This is not the first time I have seen computer's disturbing tendency to violate my trust, but it certainly was one of the more alarming.
THIS RIDICULOUS XP THING (it turned out to be the virus, so if YOUR computer starts to tell you that you need it, IGNORE IT. IT IS DANGEROUS.) BLOCKED 99/100 websites that I go to. My blog. Twitter. YouTube. EVEN GOOGLE. The only website it let me view was GMail. Eh.
Basically, this post is me ranting about how computers are taking over our lives. As soon as I saw that I was cut off from my entire Internet world, I entered an extreme state of depression that only an extreme combination of my five favorite movies (in no order at all, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory [1971], Donnie Darko, and 1776) and my favorite fictional characters (Artemis Fowl and Draco Malfoy) could pull me out of. BUT THERE WAS NO WAY FOR ME TO ACCESS MY FAVORITE MOVIES BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE TO WATCH THEM ON YOUTUBE, AND MY COMPUTER WOULDN'T LET ME GO ON YOUTUBE!!
Q. E. D. (Latin for "exactly what we set out to prove.")
*is mentally unstable*
Wait... wasn't this post supposed to be "super deep?"
I guess the fact that I listened to ALL OF THE NYAN CAT all the way through while I was writing it didn't help...

  1. Oh, something like this happened to me the other day...Our electricity went out and MY IPOD DIED. I was horrified. I couldn't watch Starkid, check my email, blog...nothing. The electricity went back on 3 hours later. Proof once again how attsched we are to the internet.
