What annoys me about books is that they can be made in to movies. And 3 times out of 4, the movie will be terrible. Case in point: Percy Jackson-- "The Lightning Thief." Wasn't that Annabel girl supposed to be blonde?... Case in point: "Twilight." Awful actors acting awfully. They could not have chosen WORSE people to be Edward and Bella. Case in point: Snow White (they're filming it right now). Seriously? Didn't the Hollywood people learn their lesson when they saw how terrible Kristen Stewart was as Bella? And the girl from "Adventureland?" And the other 16 movies (not counting the Twilight series) she's been in? They just HAD to cast HER as Snow White.
I am getting around to my point, now. Here it is: THE HUNGER GAMES.
The cast list can be found here, and there is only one word for it: OUTRAGE. It's like the Dred Scott decision. Katniss played by a blonde Hollywood starlet? Gale played by Miley Cyrus's ex-boyfriend from "The Last Song?" Peeta played by the wimpy brown-haired boy from "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and "Bridge to Terabithia?" Really, people? Really?
I am shocked and disappointed. Had I cast it, here's how MY cast list would go:
Katniss Everdeen-- Hannah Marks
Peeta Mellark-- Armie Hammer
Gale Hawthorne-- Andrew Garfield
There you go. No extreme hating, please!! But I would like thoughts.
